well, i got my room assigned to me today. more details are to come as to which res building it is in - chances are that it is near the engineering buildings(hopefully!). had to go through and read the contractual agreement (all 14 or so pages long), and understand it all. they are really strict on underage alcohol comsumption and stuff like that... not like that matters or anything... yeah... oh well - quebec is just across the way.

i also found out that one of my really good friends from ACS and England (a Canadian of course) is going to McGill for pre-med... cool cool... i have to get in contact with him... damn 5 hour time difference.. only about 1 1/2 to montreal in that case.

see you later,

Well, hell has frozen over, and today was my last day at Canadian Tire. There was a part of me not wanting to leave, and another that was telling me to do the opposite. The former feeling was due to the many learning experiences that I had at the Tire with customers, managers, and fellow employees - thanks Mr. Fleming for employing me in the first place. I mean i didn't want to leave the place where i have spent about 13 months of time working, breaking sweats, getting into verbal "matches" with customers, lifting in skids full of product, and filling the ever-popular overheads of the electrical aisles 1, 2 and drei (3). I will miss all of the people there that is for sure. say goodbye to the german contingent (wilhelm roessler), the cash people, the infamous sports crew, my hard working hardware crew, and the courtesy girls (too bad i never got to say how much i really found you to be a great person to be around and spend time with C. - thanks for coming in to see me today :) ) I really am appreciative of my manager, Shirley, getting Dave to buy me a cake for my last day, and having a bunch of us sit in the break room and eat cake for an hour (or so!). My departure was mostly filled of the former feelings, even though there is that part of me that is happy to be moving on in succession in order to progress into a new chapter of my life - university. i really can't wait for it (including the massive amount of hours of lectures, labs, tutorials, and outer class work that await me). go engineering!

i mean this is life. life is a continual sequence of events that teach us about both the positive aspects, and negative aspects of it all - and the trick is to set it up in balance!
grab it by the proverbial horns to aspire, and keep motivated so that success will com your way. that is how i see it.

until next time.... Ryan
